Event Rules and FAQ ✩
Rules of our exchange and commonly asked questions. Breaking of the rules may result in being kicked from the event.Additional questions may be directed to our event's email at [email protected] or to the event accounts on tumblr and bluesky @bnhaexchangehub.
All participants should be 13+ as per AO3’s guidelines.
All participants are required to have a discord account and to join the server.
Be courteous. No hate speech or bullying will be tolerated.
All works must be SFW (i.e. rated G or T).
Gift should follow the theme and be tailored to the giftee's likes and Do Not Wants (DNWs) to the best of your abilities. Strictly no generative AI works.
Gifts must be centered around at least one ship requested by your giftee.
This event will not allow: NSFW, rape/non-con, x reader ships, adult/minor ships, and incest.
Gift requirements
Writers: A complete, standalone fic of at least 1k words. Multi-chapter works welcome, but they must be completed before the deadline.
Artists: An artwork with at least lineart and flat colours.
What is a gift exchange?
↳ A gift exchange is when participants are given an assignment with a list of their giftee's ships, likes, and dislikes, and are tasked to create a gift for them! In return, they will also receive a gift back!Who can participate?
↳ This is a SFW event, so anyone of any skill level is allowed to participate! However, we request that participants be 13+ by the time sign-ups open, as per AO3’s guidelines.Do I need an AO3 account to participate?
↳ Unfortunately, yes. This is because sign-ups and the matching process will all be done on AO3. For more information on AO3-run gift exchanges, check out the fanlore.
↳ We will have comprehensive guides for sign-ups and postings, so if you are new to AO3-run gift exchanges, fret not! We encourage your participation!Will there be a Discord server?
↳ Yes! It is compulsory to join if you are participating in an exchange. The link can be found here.I have a question for my giftee, who can I ask?
↳ Please direct any questions you have for your giftee to the mods, and we will handle communication between you two to preserve anonymity.
↳ Do not try to ask your giftee yourself and risk spoiling the surprise!What do I do if there is someone I do not want to be paired with?
↳ Please contact the mods via discord or email with your Do Not Match (DNM)'s AO3 username, and we will take it into account during the matching process. No explanation is required.
